One of the most famous methods of consuming Japanese green tea is matcha tea which is a powdered tea with amazing flavor and impressive health-promoting qualities. In contrast with the traditional green tea, matcha is associated with the use of the entire leaf in its powdered form, which gives it a more dense concentration of nutrients and antioxidants. 1. Antioxidant and Polyphenol-rich.

Consumption of matcha tea regularly has the potential to enhance heart health by affecting cholesterol levels, lowering triglycerides and glucose in blood and weight gain, which is related to high fat diets, according to the research on animals. EGCG and other catechins in matcha assist in controlling lipid metabolism and inflammation, which may prevent the risk of cardiovascular diseases[2].

4. Cleanse and Immune System Protection.

Matcha is high in chlorophyll that is the natural green plant pigment that aids in the detoxification process to help the body rid itself of heavy metals and other chemical toxins. Furthermore, its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects are capable of boosting the strength of the immune system, allowing the body to fight infections and inflammatory diseases [1].

5. Possible Anti-Cancer Properties.

According to the initial study, the antioxidants contained in matcha may prevent the proliferation of cancer cells and serve to prevent some forms of cancer. Although further clinical experiments are necessary to provide strong evidence, anti-tumor effect of compounds contained in matcha has been proved in laboratory experiments EGCG and other compounds contained in matcha have shown anti-tumor activity in laboratory experiments [1].
